There has been a lot of press about CVS and Target’s member cards, but I’ve also been really impressed with how Martin’s, owned by international retailing group Ahold, has been using their bonuscard program. Right from the start I saw the benefit of sharing my shopping history with them: savings at the register, pertinent coupons from current brands, related brand offers, and the seasonal rewards.
They were also one of the first member cards to join KeyRing, the iPhone app I use to store all my rewards information.
NOW they are making best use of my phone app: I logged into my account online and added 6 coupons right to the card. When I buy the item and use my card, I get the discount. Done.
Good work for a chain that has managed to keep that local feel while partnering with larger brands.
